Dracula Rising: Ghosts of Hollywood Past

Chamber works and movie arrangements by Polish film composers who fled Europe for Hollywood in the 1930s and ‘40s, as well as Korngold (Czech Republic) and Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco (Italy). Plus works by modern film composer Wojciech Kilar (Poland), and from E4TT’s SRO “Film Noir Project” by David Garner and Lennie Moore.

The program features:

• "Deux pieces" for cello and piano, and songs by Polish composer Alexandre Tansman (1897-1986), (Paris Underground, Flesh and Fantasy). Listen to his "Sonatine transatlantique":
